The annual fertilizer market prices were collected from January to December 2010-2015. Fertilizer Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN) and thirteen data collectors in different states (Two from each geo political zone and one where FEPSAN is located) worked in collaboration to collect this information.

The objectives are: to provide industry trend data, farm advisory services, develop a data base for the industry, help members anticipate changes in the industry/market and properly plan their businesses, help members and stakeholders to operate efficiently in the industry.

2.0 Methodology

Fertilizer market prices were collected between January to December 2010-2015 across from thirteen states fortnightly in the six geo political zones of the country. The selected states were: Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Bauchi, Taraba, Benue, Niger, Imo, Ebonyi, Edo, Rivers, Oyo and Ekiti.

  • Apply fertilizer wisely to avoid wastage
  • Attend trainings on fertilizer use and application
  • Obtain quality fertilizers from reputable suppliers especially FEPSAN distributors
  • Store unused fertilizer away from children, fire, rain and entry of foreign material.
  • Form groups/associations to benefit from group/association dynamics.
  • Allow your crops to fully mature to get quality and values
  • Report fertilizer adulteration to the appropriate authority
