their communities in Damboa, Jere and Konduga Local Government Areas.

It said the gesture was part of the state government’s efforts to resettle Internally Displaced Persons that were victims of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The programme followed a three-day special training organised for the beneficiaries on suitable irrigation, land identification and preparation, manure and fertiliser application, environmental safety, use and maintenance of water pumps, sourcing and application of improved seed varieties and disease surveillance by experts in both Kanuri and Hausa.
The Coordinator, Borno State Fadama Project, Mr. BukarTalba, was quoted in a statement as saying that the items were meant to help peasant farmers across the state start life afresh.
He added that the project would provide them with boreholes for irrigation, food support and repairs of community infrastructure such as market stalls, community wells and farm roads to enable them to recover socially and economically.
The Chairman of Konduga Local Government Area, Audu Kawuri, was quoted as saying that if such support continued, more people would recover their losses.
He appealed to the state government and Fadama project to increase the number of beneficiaries.
