Maize IA new research by a group of scientists reveal that genetically modified transgenic maize is as safe and nutritious as the conventional non-transgenic maize.

The research titled “A 90-day toxicity study of GmTMT transgenic maize in Sprague-Dawley rats” was carried out by Jin Fang, Yongquan Feng, Yuan Zhi, Lan Zhang, Zhou Yu and Xudong Jia.
Results from body weights, feed consumption, clinical chemistry, hematology, absolute and relative organ weights showed no treatment-related side effects of GmTMT maize grain on rats in comparison with rats consuming diets containing Zhen58 (conventional) maize grain.
